Estee Lauder
Founded in 1946, this mid-range department store brand primarily attracts mature customers. Their expansion into the youth market has been achieved (quite successfully) through their acquisition of hip and trendy boutique brands, including M.A.C., Bobbi Brown and Jo Malone.

Lancome
French luxury brand started in 1935 and now owned by L'Oreal. It has a reputation for being a more mature brand, but its eye makeup remover and mascara, both touted by many as being the very best, have an across-the-board appeal. I haven't tried their mascara, but I know from experience that their eye makeup remover is fabulous.

Elizabeth Arden
Founded in 1911, Elizabeth Arden was one of America's first modern cosmetics brands. Now a mid-range department store brand, it has a reputation for catering to "mature" women.

AVON.com
The door-to-door by "Avon Lady" has been around since 1886. The brand is targeted primarily towards the budget-minded 30+ crowd.
