Miller Harris
$10,000 will get you a private consultation with Lyn Harris, one of Britain's most sought-after "noses." For those who can't make hop the pond to her Notting Hill shop, she makes annual stateside visits.

Yosh
For around $2000 you can create your own signature scent with San Francisco perfumer Yosh Han, who begins by asking her bespoke clients to give their intuitive responses to 100 essential oils. The highly personalized process of editing and fine-tuning continues until you both arrive at the perfect scent. Clients have included writer Nick Hornby, chef Gary Danko and the San Francisco Opera. Her ready-made limited edition scents have been sold in NYC's most fashionable stores, including Barneys and Takashimaya.

Strange Invisible Perfumes
About $2000 gets you a consultation with Venice, CA perfumer Alexandra Balahoutis, which involves talking (a personal interview), tasting floral waters (because "the palate is an excellent gauge of essence compatibility.") and testing to see how fragrances mingle with your own body chemistry. Information about her custom perfumes is located in the "company" section of the website.

Creative Scentualization
On a budget? Don't live anywhere near LA, NYC or San Fran? Los Angeles perfumer Sarah Horowitz-Thran's Fragrance Journey allows you to fill out an online questionaire. Based on your responses, she'll mix three custom-blended samples and send them to you for just $35. Any of the samples can be made into your own personalized perfume. For those in L.A., she offers an in-person 60-90 minute consultation for $250-$500. Your scent is blended and given to you on the spot. Sarah has created in-house perfumes for Barneys and Nordstrom.

Le Labo
In New York City, Fabrice Penot and Edouard Roschi will create your own custom scent at their trendy NoLita boutique for upwards of $40,000.
